FDA: updated safety labeling should be compulsory for generic drugmakers


The Food and Drug Administration wants to effectively return the same liability held by generic drugmakers three years ago before the Supreme Court ruled to limit liability based on present rules. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) told Congress on Tuesday its plan to raise safety labeling requirements for generic drugmakers would “create parity” among producers of branded and generic medications.
