Generic heart disease drugs having success treating Ebola patients


Researchers have found that generic heart disease drugs have had success in treating Ebola patients. Researchers reported about heart disease drugs improving the immune systems of patients suffering from Ebola in the latest issue of the mBio® American Society for Microbiology journal. The drugs work on Ebola patients by “stabilizing the integrity of endothelial cells lining the blood vessels.” Endothelial cell dysfunction is one of the largest problems facing Ebola patients.
