Lupin Announces Approval For Generic Giazo Tablets

Lupin has announced receiving tentative approval from the FDA for its Balasalazide Disodium Tablets 1.1 gm. The tablets are the generic equivalent of Giazo tablets, which are produced by Salix Pharmaceuticals. Balasalazide Disodium tablets are used to treat mild to moderately active ulcerative colitis. According to IMS Health data, Giazo Tablets have annual US sales of USD 0.79 million.
