Novartis announces low cost drug plan for low-income nations


Novartis has announced a new access initiative program for low-income nations. Under the program, a portfolio of both branded and generic drugs will be available to governments, public-sector HCPs, and NGOs, for $1 per treatment per month. The drugs include cardiovascular, diabetes, respiratory, and breast cancer treatments. The program will begin in Vietnam, Ethiopia, and Kenya.
