Trump’s Win Helps Pharma Shares Soar

For months, fears of a Hillary Clinton Presidency pushed pharma shares downward. Clinton was the expected winner of the 2016 election, based on conventional polling. Trump’s unexpected win, and his stated want to do away with business regulations, helped to push pharmaceutical and biotech stocks higher immediately after the election. Congress is also expected to eliminate the Affordable Care Act early in 2017.
